There’s something for everyone at the NIFF Film Society Summer Series! Our selections run the gamut from first-time directors to Hollywood legends, from a quiet little indie to an iconic film noir.  We’ll share information about the film before each screening and have an informal discussion after the credits roll.

Time: 7:00 pm (food and drinks begins at 6:30)

Each ticket to Film Society includes one movie ticket, choice of house wine, beer or 12 oz. fountain drink, savory bites & sweet treat. Current NIFF members also receive a complimentary promo size popcorn.

Strictly Ballroom - June 11

A maverick dancer risks his career by performing an unusual routine and sets out to succeed with a new partner. The film was nominated for close to 30 awards, including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical.
The Sting - July 9
Directed by George Roy Hill
Set in 1936, Paul Newman and Robert Redford play professional grifters who plot to con the mob boss who killed their friend. It won seven Academy Awards (it was nominated for 10) including best director and best picture.
The Station Agent - August 13
Directed by Thomas McCarthy
A comedy/drama about three lonely people with nothing in common, who come to mean the world to each other. Starring Peter Dinklage, Patricia Clarkson and Bobby Cannavale. Winner of 3 Sundance Film Festival Awards, including the Audience Award.
Sunset Boulevard - September 10
Directed by Billy Wilder
The iconic film noir about a hack screenwriter (William Holden) who writes a screenplay for a former silent-film star (Gloria Swanson) who has faded into Hollywood obscurity. Winner of 3 Academy Awards and nominated for a total of 11.
